I found CrossFit in 2017 in my hometown Augusta, Ga. Becoming a competitive Adaptive Crossfit Athlete with my first CrossFit Open in 2018. Then in the year 2019 I would do CrossFit as well as venture to compete in Spartan Races, train in Strongman, Powerlifting, BodyBuilding, and run a 10k and half-marathon. 2020 happened and all gyms were closed…

      Testimonials

      • Prior to Crossfit I was either running or doing an elliptical machine at the gym for exercise. I was solely focused on burning calories  and constantly worried if I stopped working out, I’d gain weight. While it may not have looked like I struggled with my weight, body image issues have been an internal battle for most of my life. But with Crossfit I found something different. An article I read recently put exactly how I feel into words, “...doing Crossfit improves your self-esteem and gives you something to be proud of; you are no longer defined by how you look but by what you can do.” The past two years have transformed me -- both in my physical strength and my mental and emotional health as well.

The OSC coaches and my fellow Crossfitters cheer me on, push me to work hard and be better every time I step in the gym. It truly doesn’t matter if you are just beginning and have never lifted weights (that was me) or can’t do a single push up. The training, coaching and encouragement here is for every skill level. It’s not just a gym but a community that gives you a stronger, heathier body and mind.

      • CrossFit OSC is a place where I feel at home. Surrounded by like minded people that want to better themselves and aren’t afraid to put in the work to achieve that.

Coming from a strong military background I am accustomed to a work hard play hard mentality and a brotherhood/sisterhood that everyone has each other’s back. I can tell that is the same mentality that you have established at OSC. I have seen everyone come together and step up when others are in need.

OSC is more than just another box it’s a family and one that I am damn proud to be a part of. With that being said. Don’t ever give up and keep striving for the best! I’m behind you 100%.

      • My story with CrossFit OSC began 4 years ago. I started CrossFit during a time of many changes in my life. I had gotten recently divorced, moved back to South Carolina after being 4 yrs away, had no job, and I wasn’t sure were my life was going. I went to CrossFit because I needed an outlet. I needed a space where I could release many emotions and feelings during this time. I stayed because I gained so much more. I started like many with PVC work and lots of squats facing the wall :). Coach Rigo would not let me touch a real bar until my form was perfect or close to perfect. I weighed only 110 lbs and my eating habits were questionable. Over time with Coach Rigo’s help, I started making better choices with my food. I gained weight and felt better than I have ever felt both physically and mentally. CrossFit OSC gave me strength, self-confidence, self-esteem, friends to suffer and laugh with, and mostly DISCIPLINE. 6 am classes were sometimes hard to wake up for, but never did I regret coming to class because it always felt so much better afterwards. I have lots to thank CrossFit OSC for and I know you will too!

      • Rigo and all of the coaches have helped me so much in the 4 years I have been attending OSC. They have even got my wife, who was never really interested in Crossfit, to buy in. The community in the gym is amazing and everyone has pushed me to better myself. I've even become slightly more flexible even though I don't stretch on my own as much as I need to. Rigo is an awesome dude and is willing to adjust to help service his members.

      • Before I started CrossFit, I had very little upper body and core strength and I had a lot of pain in my back from carrying my children improperly. Taking the strength training courses at OSC helped me gain strength to the point where I could even get 6 strict pull ups. Throughout my last pregnancy, I continued doing modified WODs, and I’m confident that I’ll be back to where I was before my pregnancy very soon.

      • CrossFit OSC has become my second home! I wake up almost* every morning and work out with the incredible coaches and people at 5 am. Everyone pushes each other to go a little faster or add another five pounds.

It truly is a family! The coaches really care about you and want you to do your best. I was super nervous to try out OSC, I was intimidated by the space and the people that were light years away from where I’ll ever be. But as soon as that first class started I immediately felt welcomed! If you’re thinking about trying CrossFit, come to a class...

        you won’t regret it!!
